They are something in and of themselves, reflecting a reality that is itself, and are not merely secondary reflections of the really existing material world. It is simply a mathematical device that gets us good results, and its very abstraction and dissociation obscures its correspondence to the natural characteristics and behavior of waves. As the black-hole by definition is unobservable, physicists can invent all kinds of stories. This is the deep philosophical question that begs to be answered – what does quantum physics mean?

In the mathematically rigorous formulation of quantum mechanics, developed by Paul Dirac and John von Neumann, the possible states of a quantum mechanical system are represented by unit vectors (called "state vectors") residing in a complex separable Hilbert space (variously called the "state space" or the "associated Hilbert space" of the system) well defined up to a complex number of norm 1 (the phase factor). So these quantum ideas explained two things.

He once famously remarked, “God does not play dice with the universe.” Erwin Schrödinger (1887–1961), who had formulated his famous Schrödinger equation stated in 1926, “If we are going to stick to this ****** quantum-jumping, then I regret that I ever had anything to do with quantum theory.” Note that with the probability distribution we cannot know precisely where a particle is located. In order to say something relevant to the brain sciences, we have to go beyond conventional quantum mechanics (of whatever interpretation), and make new hypotheses with definite empirical content.

There are a number of promising candidate theories that hint at how quantum gravity might look, but so far, none of them solves the problem completely. There are a huge number of variants of the strings idea, but researchers believe that they are merely different versions of a single, all-encompassing structure called M-theory ("Into the eleventh dimension", New Scientist, 18 January 1997, p 32). I will discuss how we can optimize observational strategies to achieve precision measurement of their dark matter content with current and future spectroscopic follow-up facilities.

The quantum world becomes statistically deterministic when the mass of an object is such that h / m approaches zero. What it would get Feynman, as a theory, is that Nature is incomprehensible because it cannot be understood, i.e. there is no meaning for understanding to get. If, as quantum physics attests, there is no independent, external objective reality, then light, be it in its wave-like or particle-like aspect, cannot be said to exist separate from our interaction with it.

The argument is simply that by the word "experiment" we refer to a situation where we can tell others what we have done and what we have learned and that, therefore, the account of the experimental arrangement and of the results of the observations must be expressed in unambiguous language with suitable application of the terminology of classical physics.
